Eight worlds, one community: where to start

The catalogue is organised into eight worlds rather than one long list. Here is what each one holds, and how to pick your first.

Makutano Afrika editorial

Makutano experiences are grouped into eight worlds. Connect and Socialise covers meeting people beyond your usual circle through games, talk and shared activities. Business and Leadership is where founders, professionals, investors and leaders building what comes next tend to gather. Culture and Creative Arts holds music, celebration, festivals, arts, fashion and cultural exchange. Sport and Wellness covers marathons, games, fitness and competing together.

The remaining four: Travel and Outdoor for curated trips, tours, safaris and camping across Tanzania and Africa. Knowledge and Ideas for books, deep conversations, think tanks and practical learning. Festivals and Fan Experiences for seasonal celebrations and fan moments such as Be Home Festive. And Pan-African Experiences, rooted in Ubuntu and Pamoja — Pan-African connection and belonging.

A practical way in: start with the world closest to what you already enjoy, then pick one adjacent to it. If you book business events, try a Knowledge and Ideas evening. If you come for the music, look at what Pan-African Experiences has on.

The worlds exist because the formats differ — a marathon and a book conversation ask entirely different things of you — and because mixing them is where unexpected encounters happen. The catalogue can be filtered by world whenever you want to see what is coming up.
