What to pack for five days of Be Home Festive

Be Home Festive is a five-day annual celebration of connection, culture, entertainment, family experiences, food and creative memories, held from 21 to 25 December. The programme runs across music, comedy, food, games, family activities, creative showcases and social experiences, with Home Embassy interaction and support alongside it.

Late December in Zanzibar is hot and humid, and the evenings are warm rather than cool. Light, breathable clothing does most of the work; bring one layer for the evening and reef-safe sunscreen for the daytime.

If you are bringing family, the children’s programme is worth planning around: family activities and creative showcases sit alongside the music and comedy, so the day does not have to end when theirs does. Comfortable shoes matter more than you would expect — you will be on your feet.
